Thank The Art of Doing Stuff. She made a gorgeous little fire pit, all together, it was only $23. Check out her link for the step but step. NO cutting, NO melting, NO sawing... only gluing. Truly amazing!
Re-purpose rocks outside instead of buying new ones, and have your kids help out with the rock tumbler. I used to have one of these. :) Kids have some pretty odd little treasures.
